Erase my data

Everything held about you is here for one reason — you asked for a beta code — and it goes when you say so. This form is the shortest way to say so; replying to any email from Lensmith works just as well.

    You send this form

    One field: the address you used. That's what everything is filed under.

    You confirm from your inbox

    An email arrives at that address with two buttons: confirm, or cancel. Nothing is deleted until you press confirm — otherwise this form would be a way for anyone to erase somebody else. If you never answer, reminders come after 7 and 15 days and the request lapses at 30, deleting nothing.

    It's gone within a month

    Once confirmed, usually within days. A last email tells you when it's done. That month is the deadline the GDPR sets (Art. 12(3)), not a target I invented.

What goes. Your beta request — name, email, the Mac and the lines you wrote — and any invite code issued to you, together with the address it's labelled with. An erased code stops working at the app's next refresh, so ask for this only if you're done testing. What stays is the usage record of the machines that ran the app: how many hours, which version, no name and no address attached. Once the code is gone it points to nobody, and deleting it would falsify the beta's own numbers rather than protect you.

In short. The controller is Fabio Della Selva, the developer of Lensmith. This request is itself kept — your address and what you wrote — for one purpose: to carry the erasure out — starting with the email that asks you to confirm it — and to be able to show it was done within the deadline. That is a legal obligation (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)), not consent, so there is no box to tick here. When nothing of yours is left, that record goes too. The long version is in the privacy notice.
